DIY Solid Perfume

Hi I just found this amazing little tut for making your own solid perfume that you can wear in a locket, such a gorgeous idea, had to share it :)

Now onto some more of my own work

This is my most recent creation, just a simple bracelet, but so sparkly and pretty, I just love the irregular cut of the beads, nice and easy to wear too.

This set I made a while ago, I love the shapes created on the Wig Jig with the wire, and the sodalite is such a pretty coloured stone, I just love it.

This is a pendant of the earth goddess that I bought online (can't remember off hand where) and I found these lovely natural beads that suited the tone and made a lovely earthy necklace and earring set, there is a matching bracelet as well, but it's in the fix it box as the clasp came loose.

A cool variation on a chain necklace, mixed seed beads in bronze, purple and clear entwined with a thin chain and using the clasp as a feature. I wear is off center as shown in the pic.

This is my favourite piece that I've made, and I love to wear it too.  The two large rose quartz pieces I bought in a bag of rough stones, these two were nice flat pieces which I wire wrapped then I added rose quartz chips to break up the chain.  I am really pleased with the result and the asymmetrical look of it.

Well that's about it for today, writing this blog and showing off my work is inspiring me to get creative again, now I just need to get some time without little people around to do some work lol.

You sign up for it and get sent a package of beads to work with and you send someone a pack of beads back, a great way to fire up your imagination.  Will have to try it one day.

And of course you can always Google free beading stuff for patterns etc, and I usually scour Ebay for good cheap beads.  One downside of not living in one of the major cities is that our local bead shop isn't very big, so I get most of my supplies online.

To begin with

Well just thought I'd start this thing off.

I have been beading for a few years now, and my collection of beads certainly outweighs my collection of completed works, but I love buying those unique pieces that I will use "one day".

My creative juices are flowing a bit slowly at the moment due to the sleep deprivation of having young children, but I feel so amazed and chuffed when I do produce something lovely with my own hands.  I will slowly add some photos of my work as I go.  My most recent favourite piece is a wire wrapped rose quarts chunk necklace, I still look at it and can't believe that I made it.

Well I hope that I can share my love of beading with like minded souls and perhaps bounce ideas off others.
